Amazon Selling Fee Structure: grow your business
The cost to sell on Amazon depends on your selling plan, product category, fulfillment strategy, and other variables. The options are flexible, so you can find the combo that works best for you and your goals.
Referral fees
Amazon charges a referral fee for each item sold. The amount depends on the product category. Most referral fees are between 5% and 15%.
Fulfillment fees
The cost to ship your orders depends on whether you Easy ship your orders using Amazon logistics, use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), or self-ship your orders on your own.
Other costs
Some sellers may incur additional fees (such as long-term storage fees) or pay for optional programs like advertising or premium account services.
Getting paid and paying fees
When you set up a seller account, you’ll provide a credit card number and a bank account. Amazon proceeds from any sales will be deposited into your bank account (pre-deducting the fees). Any additional charges not covered by seller balance will be charge on the credit card.

Amazon jargon:
Referral fees
For every item sold, sellers pay Amazon a percentage of the total price—including item price, shipping cost, and any gift-wrapping charges—or a minimum amount, whichever is greater. Referral fees are in addition to selling plan fees.

FEES
Fulfillment or Shipping Fees
Fulfillment fees depend on whether you plan to ship products yourself, or use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to handle your logistics and offer shipping for your products.
FBA fulfillment fees
The Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) fee is a flat fee per unit, based on the size and weight of the item. First, determine the size tier for your product (standard or oversize). Next, use the tables below to determine which fee schedule will apply. Finally, calculate the fulfillment fee according to the product’s shipping weight (details below).
Product size tiers
Standard size versus oversize
A standard-size item is one that, when fully packaged, weighs 12 kg or less and does not exceed:
45 centimeters on its longest side
34 centimeters on its median side
26 centimeters on its shortest side
Any item exceeding these dimensions is considered oversize. Any item not exceeding these dimensions, but weighs more than 12 kg will also be considered oversize.

FBA New Selection Program - To make it easier to offer new products through Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), FBA New Selection offers free storage for eligible new-to-FBA ASINs for a limited time. Once you enroll in the program, you can use these benefits for an unlimited number of new parent ASINs per year.

FBA monthly inventory storage fee
Storage fees are charged for all units stored in an Amazon fulfilment centre based on calendar month and your daily average volume (measured in cubic feet). The cubic feet of any unit will be based on the unit's size as properly packaged and ready for dispatch to customers in accordance with the FBA Program Policies. Amazon will be entitled to make its own measurement of the cubic feet or weight of any packaged unit or representative sample thereof and in the event of any conflict between such measurement and information provided by the seller, Amazon's measurement will govern
Inventory Storage fees are charged on a monthly basis and are typically charged sometime between the 7th and 15th day of the month following the month the fee applies to. For example, if you want to see the Inventory Storage fee you paid for January, refer to the February settlement report that includes the transactions from 7-15 February.

Calculating cubic feet from centimeters
Multiply length x width x height in centimeters to get the volume.
Divide the volume by 28,316.84 cubic centimeters (30.48 cm x 30.48 cm x 30.48 cm = 28,316.84), which is the equivalent of 1 cubic foot.
Example: A unit measuring 47 cm x 12 cm x 10 cm divided by 28,316.84 = 0.199 cu. ft.

Additional inventory storage fees apply to products classified as dangerous goods, and for units that have been stored in an Amazon fulfillment center for more than 365 days (long-term storage fees).
Other costs
As you think about the full cost of selling in Amazon stores, be sure to consider additional selling expenses you may incur, and other optional programs designed to help you increase sales.
